Welcome to Ysgol Bro Tawe.

  Our Vision

To create a safe, caring and stimulating ethos where children interact with each other and staff in a challenging learning environment.

We want all our children to develop a positive attitude to learning by providing an enquiry based approach, empowering pupils in acquiring the knowledge and skills required to reach their full potential and be able to make an active contribution to an ever changing technological, diverse society.

ICT Vision Statement
It unlocks the past, supports the present and opens the technological world of tomorrow

Ysgol Bro Tawe opened on Monday 10th September 2012 with 237 pupils. The school was created following the closure and amalgamation of Ysgol Cynlais, Glanrhyd & Gurnos Schools.

We are very proud of our new school, which serves the local community of Ystradgynlais.

Selecting a school that will provide the best education for a child is one of the most important decisions that we as parents have to make for our children.

The intention of this website is to provide you with information to assist you in making that choice. Obviously it cannot provide all the answers to questions you may have, that is why parents interested in their children attending Ysgol Bro Tawe are always encouraged to visit the school prior to making a decision. By making your selection in this way you can be sure that you have taken an important step in ensuring that your child will receive an education that is suited to his/her needs.

You will find details of school events, visitors and activities that serve to enliven the curriculum, alongside information about our after school clubs and extracurricular activities that your children can participate in.

Should you require further details with regards to the school then please contact myself or my deputy Head teacher Mrs B Evans.
